Investment Oversight Specialist

We are searching for a colleague to strengthen the Mid-Office Team within NN Group Investment Operations, who will have a crucial role in third party asset manager oversight from an operational and financial perspective.

What you are going to do

You know your way around alternative and traditional investments; and all the advantages and challenges it offers. You are able to challenge our asset managers on their operational policies & procedures, data quality, mark-to-model valuations  and will continuously monitor and evaluate their financial and operational performance. As a true liaison between our front and back-office teams, you facilitate strong communications, and you act quickly and efficiently in order to meet all needs.

• You will ensure regulatory and NN compliance by evaluating operational risks regarding prospective and current external asset managers, for both traditional as well as alternative investments
• You will gather and analyze external asset manager policies and procedures, including on Finance / Internal Controls / Accounting / Valuations / Data Governance / Compliance & Operations / IT systems and Business Continuity
• You will assess, enhance and challenge qualitative / quantitative data deliverables and mark-to-model valuations received from external asset managers
• You will participate in onsite due diligence meetings
• You will stay ahead of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in operational due diligence and continuously refine and enhance due diligence methodologies and processes

Who you are

We’re looking for a colleague who is proactive stakeholder management, result driven and considered to be a real team player. You like to dive deep into the data and challenge the asset managers on your findings. Furthermore you have:

• Academic degree in the field of finance with additionally professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) as an advantage
• 2 / 3 years relevant work experience in a similar or asset management environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex operational processes and identify potential risks
• Excellent written / verbal communication, presentation and interview skills in English, and Dutch as a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

With our team we oversee more than 40 asset managers in fixed income, real estate, private equity, private debt, and infrastructure equity. Investment Operations is part of NN Group Finance and responsible for investment accounting, operations, pricing & valuations, asset manager oversight and investment data delivery to all Insurance Companies of NN Group.
